Chatzivariti Winery in PDO Goumenissa

Chloe and her father Vaggelis are the two people behind this boutique winery. When Chloe returned from her oenologist studies in France, she brought back her passion and experience for low intervention wines and immediately started making a new range of wines without interventions and experimenting with new wine making techniques, such as Pet Nat (pétillant naturel) and carbonic maceration. She will be our host and take us on a tour and her original tastings through her emotional game and a unique wine-music pairing.

Small building and clear sky

Argatia Winery

A small family owned winery, founded in 2000 where they make exquisite Xinomavro wines.

The word Argatia refers to a very important institution of the Greek agricultural society of Pontos meaning "Cooperation for the achievement of a common purpose”. Scientific Knowledge, experience and love of wine are pieced together to create well balanced, biological vineyards of indigenous grapevine varieties (Xinomavro, Negoska, Assyrtiko, Athiri, Malagouzia), necessary for the production of high quality wines.

Tatsis Winery

Having love and respect for the vine as a basic principle, they give special care to its cultivation. The cultivation method they have chosen is the same as the one used by their grandparents. They cultivate organic and then biodynamic cultivation because it is philosophically in line with their beliefs. Interventions in the vineyard are minimal and care is taken daily. Since 2002 they strive to achieve stress-free vines with healthy fruit. In essence, they are fellow travellers in the vineyards, with open eyes and ears, supporting them where there is genuine need.

Mikro Ktima Titos

The winery is located at the foot of the Paiko mountain range near the provincial town of Goumenissa, surrounded by age-old oaks. The estate cultivates the local grapes of Xinomavro and Negoska vines that thrive in the privately-owned vineyard surrounding the winery that is located near the Two Rivers expanse of Goumenissa. The vines are painstakingly cared for. They are farmed according to organic agricultural standards and tended with attention and respect for the peculiarities of each region. Most of the viticultural work is done manually, including harvesting which typically begins at the end of September.

Spurred on by the potential, the property got repurposed and renovation works on the original building were completed in 2022.
